2. General information on data processing

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This website does not collect personal data on its own initiative. Personal data is only processed when you actively fill in a contact form (email address and, optionally, name).

This website sets no first-party cookies. No tracking tools, social media plugins or analytics services are actively integrated. The only external resources loaded when visiting the site are Google Fonts (see below) and the form backend (when submitting a form).

3. Email collection and newsletter (double opt-in)

What we collect: When you complete the form to request the free download, we collect the following data:

• Email address
• Time of sign-up (date and time)
• Time of confirmation (after clicking the confirmation link)
• Anonymised IP address (last octet set to 0, e.g. 192.168.1.0 instead of 192.168.1.42)

Double opt-in: The registration only becomes effective after you have clicked the confirmation link in the confirmation email. Your registration is only saved and the download email sent after this confirmation. A registration without confirmation expires automatically and is not processed further.

Purpose of processing: Delivery of the requested free Chapter 5 of the Sauna Handbook 2026 and occasional further free content from SaunaFan.de (additional chapters, sauna tips, notifications of new blog articles).

What we may send:

• The requested free chapter (once, after confirmation)
• Further free chapters of the Sauna Handbook for promotional purposes
• Sauna tips and notifications of new blog articles

Expressly no advertising for third-party products.

What we do not do: Your email address will never be passed on, sold or used for commercial purposes beyond those stated above. No transfer of your data to third countries takes place.

No third-party provider: All processing takes place exclusively on our own IONOS server in Germany. No US-based or other external third-party provider is used for email collection or newsletter delivery.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent via double opt-in).

Retention period: Your data is stored for as long as your subscription is active. After unsubscribing, your data will be deleted in full within 30 days. For proof of consent (statutory documentation obligation), data may be retained in anonymised form for up to 30 days after unsubscribing.

Unsubscribing: You can unsubscribe at any time:

After unsubscribing you will receive no further emails from SaunaFan.de. Your data will be deleted within 30 days.

4. Payment processing (Digistore24)

Purchases of the Sauna Handbook are processed via Digistore24 GmbH (St.-Godehard-Straße 32, 31139 Hildesheim, Germany). When making a purchase, payment and buyer data is transmitted directly to Digistore24 and processed there in accordance with their privacy policy. We receive only a purchase confirmation. 5. Google Fonts

This website loads typefaces from Google Fonts (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). When the page loads, a connection is established to Google servers, during which your IP address is transmitted.

6. Web hosting (IONOS)

This website is hosted by IONOS SE (Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). When the website is accessed, server log files are stored containing technically necessary data (IP address, date/time, URL accessed, browser type). These data are used exclusively for technical error analysis and security purposes and are deleted after 7 days.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website).

7. Cookies

This website sets no first-party cookies. Google Fonts may set technical cookies as part of their service — these are described in the respective providers' privacy policies.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights vis-à-vis us as controller:
